She earned an academic scholarship to college and began an unlikely career in the male-dominated construction business. She opened Alvarado Construction and Supply ,which proves her worth "the number of women in our industry was less than one percent." She believes "I view my path as one that will open doors of opportunity for other women and people of color to pursue."
